The rains are upon us until mid October in Panama, so we wrapped up a fun season last week with some schools of football tuna (one boat with two talented anglers went 27 for 40 before lunch one morning using medium spinning gear and throwing poppers), a few biggies (Doc’s 210#), some great roosters, and the usual mix of species we find here. I did my usual goofing around with crocs and exploring inshore, enjoyed the ever entertaining mix of guests we host weekly. Next season starts the last week in October- cool time to chase wahoo, black marlin, roosters, cubera- and runs through June. We’re 75% booked already, so please think about reserving a boat, or even the entire barge with us sooner than later. I’m moving to just north of Tampa, will be on the floating lodge more next year, am ramping up for a hard core angling adventure year: barge is getting hull scoped and painted, booth diesels are rebuilt, new electrics, harpoons on all Ocean Masters, a few new 150 Suzukis, Mad Mantis rods, coolers, pumps, seats, ad infinitum….
Come play in the offshore islands of Panama with us. We’d love to show you! mike@mikeaugat.com
